- HC reports: usability bug: if I just want to add a translation, I can't do it from the screen that show up when I start emending; can't get option to create until xml has been modified
1200EST 27 January 2010
- HC edited O. Berenike 1.1
- JS and JC voted yes-text, RA voted reject
- HC sees two notifications of approval, instead of just one
- it showed up for finalization on James' dashboard and he went ahead and finalized/committed
- successfully canonized
- HC created new translation for O Berenike 1 5
- James and Josh voted for the translation; Rodney did not get option to vote and then Rodney was assigned as finalizer
stray notes
- Front page
- Create publication from PN ID: is this superseded by "Emend existing publicaiton" + dropdowns?
- Delete tweaks
- news feed: include what got deleted in news feed
- Bug in boards set-up
- need to make sure RA, JC, JS are on editorial board
- need to make sure RA, JC, JS are super-editors
- not displaying board members' names
- TE submitted edits to BGU 1.197 before board was set up; text remains 'submitted' but is sort of in limbo
- TE submitted an emendation
- A note did go to the editorial board and the item was added to the queue
- But TE got an error message
- Home does not say that a document has been submitted
- Your editing publications
- contains 2 entries for same document
- first doc allows you to see and edit text
- but you cannot submit: not enough privs
- click second doc: "we're sorry something went wrong"
- And When EB member clicked on item in queue also a error message
- Also when EB clicks stack of papers "submit" button appears at top
- When EB members edit, save, and submit, the submitted text does not get added to the DDBDP Editorial Board Publications queue
- In DDBDP Editorial Board Publications would be best to display
- # BGU 11 2055 # Hgv BGU XI 2055, submitted by Fred Smith on 01/15/1020
20 Jan 2010 0900EST
- who initiated a text must be indicated on editors'
- full implementation of delete when? CC says can't be done by 1 Feb and that it's under-specified
- something funny happens when you open a text then, without changing, click home?
board superdude tried to edit an existing decree throws a "something went wrong" error should be fixed with 5a4e1b796356a9c3dd33524c8382ff52241f83dd
- board member on vote page, pulled down graffiti but didn't put anything in the text box, threw a "something happened" error rather than catching the empty field and demanding (or graying out button until there's a comment in there)
- incorrect chunking of texts with multiple divs is still causing trouble
- James would like a visual cue (text) indicating that text is required
- (was voting "grafitti") error seems to be unrelated to existence or not of text in the voting justification box
- trying to trap:
- Hugh submits a text (O. Berenike 1 1)
- all 3 editors vote "yes" (successfully)
- trigger didn't fire for approve
- Hugh submits another text (BGU 1 4)
- all 3 editors vote "no"
- Josh got a proxy error (Glassfish flakiness); others voted successfully; Josh voted successfully on a second try
- not showing approve, just like the previous one
- Hugh submits another text (O. Berenike 1 2)
- all 3 editors vote "defer" (successfully)
- again not showing approve
- Hugh submits another text (O. Berenike 1 3)
- all 3 editors vote "reject" (successfully)
- it returned to Hugh, but doesn't give the reasons for rejections; gives Hugh the vote box (Hugh will get a screen capture)
- Hugh submits another text (O. Berenike 1 4)
- all 3 editors vote "graffiti"
- on clicking "vote" got a "we're sorry something went wrong" error
- Ryan says there's a problem with finishing notification after deleting the object
- once the object is deleted other delete votes will error off
- Hugh submits O. Berenike 1 5
- Josh voted "yes", Rodeny and james voted "no"
- Rodney got a message: "the change you wanted is rejected"
- but now votes reflect results
- don't see finalization step, as expected
- Hugh tried resubmitting O. Berenike 1 3
- all editors get the option to vote
- why are editors seeing the earlier attempt still on their DDBDP editorial board publications list?
- when stuff is sent back like that, it should disappear from the Board's work list
- it's still showing up in Hugh's "editing publications" list, even though it's been resubmitted; it's also showing up on his submitted list
- Josh produced the same error, but not on resubmit; seems to be doing it all along
- JOSH opened BGU 1 129, edited, saved and submitting but when he reopens it via the link in "your editing publications" and "ddbdp editorial board publications" link it fails with "error at line 1, column 10; Ryan says there's no content on that branch of the repository, will need to look at in more detail to see when/how got lost
- if you submit an emendation to text X, you may not check out and submit a separate emendation to same text until original proposal has been acted upon (but of course you can make multiple proposals in a single submissions)
- editors want bigger comments, preferably: long, multi-line comments, rather than 256 characters
- defer looking at "finalization" step until the post-vote action bug is fixed
- Gabby tried to make BGU 1 70 (stray square bracket; said error line 22, column 113, which means nothing with no line numbers in the xml)
- we either need line numbers or some other way to tell us what we need
- error disappears too quickly
- GB found the error, fixed it then hit Leiden plus, it still said there was an error and the square bracket had come back; do we need to save before switching from XML to Leiden plus view? If so (yes) it would be good to be told that; saving it says "we're sorry something went wrong"
- behavior: editor should take you to the xml view directly if the leiden plus is not parsing
- HGV testing
- after board member votes, view defaults back to text, rather than metadata
- editors would like a way to discover/see each other's vote reasons
22 Jan 2010 1220EST
- HC edited O.Berenike I 2
- All 3 voted yesText (News feed recorded 4 votes tho only 3 were cast)
- JC got no notice in "Your Finalizing"
- JS got notice, but link produces error
- RB got notice, but link produces error
- CC edited P.Louvre I 11
- 1 voted yesText, 1 YesApp?, 1 reject (News feed recorded 2 votes tho only 3 were cast)
- JC got no notice in "Your Finalizing"
- JS got no notice
- RB got notice, but link produces error
- RB thinks problem is with finalize view
- HC edited O.Berenike I 4
- JC and JS voted Reject
- NEws Feed says was rejected
- HC: Text has not been returned to his Editing Publicaitons list
- JC and JS still have the text in DDbDP Editorial Board list, tho it should vanish, since it was rejected
29 Jan 2010
- RB submitted P.Lond. 7 2067
- JS voted NO
- JC voted YES
- When RA voted NO he was told "We're sorry, but something went wrong."
- Tried again with O.Ber. I 8
- JS votes NO
- JC votes No and gets error
- Seems to be that second Reject Vote chokes
- Tried again with O.Ber. I 9
- JS voted Trash: "We're sorry..."
- Seems like variation on previous
3 Feb 2010
