Navigator Progress

This page provides for coordination and communication between the IDP leadership and IDP user community with respect to requests for enhancements and reports of deficiencies with the Papyrological Navigator software. Ticket links below (in the form #7) are struck-through if work on the task has been completed.

  • P.Babatha 21 is not appearing in the PN (email: Ranon Katzoff 12 Oct. 2008). See (#2)
  • When my search results come back, it reads, for instance, "Hits 1 to 34 of 35 ..." while in fact all 35 are given (email: Bruce Nielsen 13 Oct. 2008). See (#8)
  • P.Hal. 7 does not appear in the PN (email: M. Gerhardt 15 Oct. 2008). See (#2)
  • Browsers and PN. Difficulties experienced. (email: D. Kaltsas, 18 Oct. 2008). See (#42) At present we regard this as not particularly pressing. Firefox generally gives good results.
  • The papyrus SB V 7618, also published as P.Mil. II 28, is listed in the database as P.Mil. I 28. I am holding the volume right now and there is no doubt about which volume it's in. (email: Gil Renberg 20 Oct. 2008). See (#6)
  • Regular PN Search Engine does not find: P.Alex. Giss. 62 and SB XVI 12505 but the PN's DDbDP interface does find them (email: Leonardo de Arrizabalaga y Prado 24 October 2008). See (#4) and (#5)
  • Address the question of entry in DDbDP search in Unicode as opposed to Beta Code. Works for some computers (new generation Macs with Intel) but not others (older generation of Macs, some PCs with WindowsXP) (reported by word of mouth on a number of occasions to J. Cowey Nov. 2008). See (#41)
  • Standardize sorted display of publications so that they are listed in alphabetical order (alphabetized by and within "O." and "P." designation) (email W. Clarysse 4 Nov. 2008). See (#43 and #108)
  • Use of "grc-Grek" in PN display instead of simply "Greek"? (email: W. Clarysse 4 Nov. 2008). See (#44)
  • Missing texts, literary texts, collaboration with LDAB (email: W. Clarysse 4 Nov. 2008). See (#45)

  • Conversion of SGML text section to XML failed. Verso of P.Erl. 54 missing from XML (noted by R. Ast Nov. 2008). See (#46)

  • Allow error reporting on every page of the PN (noted by R. Ast & J.Cowey Nov. 2008). See (#48 and #129)
  • Discrepancy between the information to Provenance in the presented result set of a search in PN and the information to Provenance presented in the Text & Translation tab of any given text in PN (email: D. Hagedorn/K. Worp 27 Jan. 2009).
    • The information on Provenance in the presented result set of a search originates from HGV. The information on Provenance presented in the Text & Translation tab of any given text originates from the DDBDP project. At present there is often a discrepancy and this will remain for quite some time as there are plenty of other problems which are of a more pressing nature. We intend of course in the long run to provide consistency in this matter.
  • UPZ I 18 appears not to be linked in properly. When trying to find the papyrus text by entering its corpus and number it doesn't show up, as do other UPZ papyri, but a keyword search did show it up. (email: G. Renberg 3 March 2009). See (#5)
  • P.Cair.Zen. I 59076.1, 15 has typo in Greek (email H. Melaerts 26 March 2009); see #160
