    • when in the case of the forced renaming of existing volumes (existing o.stras. has to become o.stras.1 to make way for the appearance and existence of o.stras.2) HGV Metadata is crosswalked and pushed to the repository this should be closely coordinated with various hand done actions like moving existing texts from one directory to the other. Should not be a big problem, but coordination is top priority.

    • <sic cert="low"> ongoing and still represents the bulk of the instances (378)

      • 551 occurrences of "\]" in 265 files down to 248 occurrences in 192 files (as of 11.19.09 r2789) down to 154 occurrences in 120 files (as of 27.01.10 r3041)

Thu 05 Nov 2009, 0900 EDT

  • Attending: RA, GB, HC, JC, JF, JS
  • New version of idp_static desirable so as to avoid the likes of #414. Dependency on MapMaker and need for P5 xslt for the production of idp_static perhaps count too strongly against trying to make the effort to produce new static version.
  • xSugarprogress parse errors under 4000 for the first time. Reversibility errors down to a meagre 48. 223 non-empty files more passing since last week.

Thu 24 Sep 2009, 0900 EDT

  • Attending: RA, HC, JC, JF, JS
  • P5
    • Borked <rdg>: #347 still ongoing: most recent update r2222
    • #350. Was going to change the information in the date tag in the DDb_EpiDoc_XML of p.naqlun.9. I found that the P5 version of this text has an empty date tag in the header p.naqlun.9.xml <head n="38391" xml:lang="en"><date/><placeName>Naqlun</placeName></head>
    • This used to be p.naqlun.9.xml
      <head lang="en" n="38391">
      <date>XI-XII spc</date>
      <placeName>Naqlun</placeName>
      </head>

    • Does this mean that all DDb dates were killed in the conversion to P5? Looks as like we are going to have to live with this. Or we find a way to insert dates for "only DDb" texts? (p.ital., cpr.3, chla, rom.mil.rec. = ca. 250 texts), which of course do not have HGV dates. This is probably a further reason to push ahead with creating records in HGV for DDb onlys (even if the records are not fully completed)
      • Confirmed as a mistake when P5 conversion was done. We should attempt to get all the date material back into the header. However the date information from DDb should be suppressed in the html version of the file. Spot check should be carried out for any other possible content loss #355.

  • Missing lb1s
  • Mapmaker / Aggregation
  • P5 launched r2162.
    • New validation run should be done. Now done see here. Instances of non-validation continue to decrease, see ValidationProgress
  • r2137 (final full Scriptorium commit) deleted at least two instances of <rdg> now corrected in r2163 but cf. changeset 2137 of line 8 in the same document, p.tebt.2.470, and r2164 but cf. changeset 2137 of line 23 in the same document, p.tebt.2.393. We need to know how many other instances of such an occurrence there are. And are there any other cases of such deletions. Deletions are not so bad if they lead to non-valid XML as they can be traced, but it is possible that elements were deleted but produced valid files (these are not so easily traceable).
    • Turned out to be no where near as bad as feared. For ongoing corrections see #347.
  • PN-mockups: http://dev.papyri.info/pn-mockups/ (especially http://dev.papyri.info/pn-mockups/pn-view-mockup.html). Links don't always work. Please post criticism on the NavigatorIA page or as trac tickets referencing it.

  • Progress
    • DTD problem. See #58
      • Critical implications for optimization
        • Need to know that we are committing valid and well formed XML. r1737 committed non well formed XML (JC's mess up). This borked RB's automated coverage lists (see 2009.04.17.txt thru 2009.04.19.txt). r1739 repaired the damage, but this sort of thing should be as fool proof as possible.
      • RB notes: can change so automated runs can withstand this, reason for the bork is it wasn't anticipated/a problem before. Would possibly require some additional output in the report though (i.e. report which XML files are not parsing at all).
      • TE to document fix plan for Scriptorium

      • What version of Aggregated_XML is PN using? We want it to be pointing at http://idp.atlantides.org/svn/idp/idp.data/trunk/Aggregated_XML/ as soon as possible. Does #97 have bearing on this? Reason for this question: desire to push ahead to be using the improved versions of the DDB_EpiDoc_XML as soon as possible, because this will illustrate to the papyri.info using community that things are getting done.

    • Update on last run (RunnerRedux) http://epiduke.cch.kcl.ac.uk/2008-12-22/. How good is it?
    • Update on what run is now being used by PN (still the old one as far as I can see - JC). If new aggregated output http://epiduke.cch.kcl.ac.uk/aggregated/2008-12-23/ is good and not yet being used by PN then it should be transferred asap.
    • Is anyone in place for looking after PN?
      • New PN programmer has offer in hand
    • ticket:60 which concerns getting TM numbers from Leuven. Mark Depauw reports (mail from 7 Jan 2009) that in the database that was sent to him only 33 Latin texts remain which have not yet been assigned a TM number. There are 354 records remaining without TM number. Mark reckons that that total is reducible to around 240 without too much difficulty. These would remain problematic. Plans in place for JC to go to Leuven to thrash through the remaining ones. Goal is to have everything finished before meeting in Durham (5-8 March 2009).

    • Need a bit of clarity to function of Sandbox
      • Papys agree to revision to conception of Sandbox: Sandbox is for *public* pre-corpus documents. Anything a user wants to keep private or semi-private is stored in branch but *not* in Sandbox, until user decides it is 'done' enough to become public.
